Surpise! You Are Now Allergic To Your Vitamin D3

I ran out of my Vitamin D3 supplement several days ago, so I had my husband pick me up some at the pharmacy yesterday.  I’ve been taking this particular brand of Vitamin D3 (FYI: Vitamin D3 is actually a hormone not a vitamin) for over a decade.  I’ve tried different brands and doses.  My PCP has me on 10,000 I.U. daily.  It has been the only one I could tolerate without severe nausea.  Up until last night I’ve tolerated it fine.  Within a short while of taking it, I started feeling pressure and swelling in my throat.  I spent the rest of the night until 4 am taking benadryl around the clock fighting the swelling.  It was not fun.  And I pretty much feel like I’ve been run over by a semi.  I still have swelling, and my throat and mouth are so sore, it hurts to eat or swallow.  I have no idea if they changed an inactive ingredient in this brand since the last pack I bought, or if my body just decided it didn’t like it any more.  I guess I could contact the company and ask, but  I probably won’t.  Needless to say, I am now trying to find a brand I can tolerate to treat my Vitamin D Deficiency.  This is the third change of products I have had to make in a week.  I had to change my shampoo and conditioner as well because I started reacting to them.  I don’t know why my body has decided to go nuts.  It’s really getting old.
